This is only an ESTIMATE of potential throughput in gallons per cubic foot of regenerated Strong Acid Cation resin, Strong Base Anion resin, and Mixed Bed resin based on influent TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) or Conductivity. If known, the levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) and silica (SiO2) can be input, otherwise a default value of 10 ppm for each will be added. Variations in solution quality and actual quality of the resin will affect total throughput. The resin capacity is based on regeneration of the cation resin with hydrochloric acid and regeneration of the anion resin with ambient temperature sodium hydroxide.
Note: “TDS” only includes ions, not CO2 or silica which are pretty much non ionized and don’t contribute to conductivity (most “TDS” meters simply take conductivity and divide by 2.53, the constant for sodium chloride).
